Nutshell
Location: Kaimai Mamaku Conservation Park, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand
Access: The Aongatete tracks start at the carpark at the end of Wright Road off SH2 between Tauranga and Katikati, towards the Aongatete Outdoor Education Centre.
The carpark is before the gate to the Education Centre, which may be locked at any time.
You need to follow the sign marked River link track/swimming hole track.
Times: DOC duration-30 minutes, Forest Family duration– 35 minutes (large group of kids aged 5-12 years old, 1 baby in the front pack and many adults).
Track grade: DOC-Easy walking track (not stroller friendly)
Highlights: Pristine river to swim in varying depths, rocks to jump off into deep pools, short scenic bush walk.
Note: No dogs allowed
