Nutshell

• Location: Hawkes Bay
• Duration: The longest part about getting here is the drive! From Napier ~1hr on unsealed/gravel roads, as well as a river ford. Seriously worth it though! Take care as heavy rain and snow melt can affect the water levels.
• Track grade: Easy (a short, steep track descends from the campsite)
• Highlights/features: A free hot pool in the forest! Campground, walks, hunting and fishing! Adventurous souls could hike on to Te Puia Hut and more hot pools in the bush. What a reward! On the to do list…
• FYI– NOT suitable for caravans or campervans.  The road is narrow and may be slippery when wet, best to check Hastings District Council for temporary road closures. No dogs allowed.
