Pukekura Park, New Plymouth

Nutshell

  • Location: City Centre, New Plymouth. There are several car parks located around the Park itself, or walk in from the city centre.
  • Highlights/Features: This park is at the heart of the city, and has everything, lakes, playground, bush walks and beautiful gardens – it reminds me of a park you would find in a city in Europe (La Rochelle, France to name one). The park is always alive with something happening – the TSB Festival of Lights lights up the park between December and February each year and sitting adjacent to the park is Brooklands garden estate, where you’ll find Brooklands Zoo and where the amazing WOMAD festival is held each March – the main stage being the stunning TSB Bowl.
  • Notes: Toilets located in several spots throughout the park, it’s Buggy and wheelchair friendly.
