Nutshell
- Location: Waikato side of the Kaimai Mamaku Conservation Park
- Access: Car park at the end of Te Tuhi Road, off Old Te Aroha Road

- Forest Family Times:
- Te Tuhi track to North South junction – 2.5 – 3 hours on the way there (uphill) and 1.5 – 2 hours on the way back (downhill 😜), walking with a 10, 11 and 12 year old (Walking time only – doesn’t include lunch or swim stop).
- South – North South track to Te Whare Okioki – 1/1.5 hours with/without kids.
- East – Ngamarama track to Whakamarama – 5 hours with 5 kids aged between 5 and 8, including lots of breaks (2.5-3 hours without children)
- North – North South track to Wairere Falls (top) – 2.5 hours without children
- Te Tuhi track to North South junction – 2.5 – 3 hours on the way there (uphill) and 1.5 – 2 hours on the way back (downhill 😜), walking with a 10, 11 and 12 year old (Walking time only – doesn’t include lunch or swim stop).
- Track Grade: Advanced – this DOC grade is due to stream/river crossings. Always look up and follow the orange triangles and be careful crossing streams after intense rainfall.
- Highlights/Features: Views of the Waikato while walking up gravel road and across farmland. Several streams to cross and explore, even to take a dip in. About 1/4 of this track in total in exposed (out of the bush).
- Notes: There are several small stream crossings. No dogs allowed unless by permit. There is no toilet at the car park at the end of Te Tuhi Road.
